Utility firm to install power ahead of builders

Kenya Power will install 29 substations by end of June in a move informed by a distribution master plan that forecasts areas likely to record rapid growth in real estate and manufacturing. Chief executive Ben Chumo told the Star that the plan will see the company set up power infrastructure before developers of residential and commercial properties move in site to reduce the time it takes to get electricity. Buffalo Mall lets in Naivasha shoppers

The first shopping mall in Naivasha, Nakuru county, opened doors at the weekend, adding a new destination to the town popular for its flowers and getaways. Buffalo Mall is a joint venture between British firm Lloyd Capital Partners, which holds 75 per cent stake, and the Delamere family with 25 per cent. Digital title deed centre launched

Kenya’s bid to automate its land registry gained momentum on Wednesday with the launch of a one-stop centre expected to process three million “tamper-proof title deeds” in the next three years. President Uhuru Kenyatta unveiled the National Titling Centre in Nairobi and flagged off vans to deliver 814,743 titles to counties in Nyanza, the Rift Valley and eastern parts of the country.
