Kyuna is generally a climatically cool area with clean air in which some roads like that of Kyuna Crescent are literally covered with bougainvillea. Its immediate neighbours are the Kibagare Estate with its slum area, and the more up-market Loresho and Spring Valley. Kyuna itself is up-market with a few old fashioned houses with servants’ quarters, and new mansions being built in the area. Kyuna shares many of the same facilities - hospitals, schools, and social amenities - with Spring Valley and Loresho. For instance, the National Agricultural Laboratories located in Kyuna, serves the neighboring Loresho, where many own dairies. Kyuna is north of Westlands with the main access road being the Lower Kabete Road which leads straight onto Kyuna Road up to Kyuna Rise on the left, and then left into Kyuna Crescent. The Communications Commission of Kenya also sits between Kyuna and Loresho.

Typically, houses are lavish four to five bedroom mansions with sprawling gardens and tall trees offering clean, unpolluted air. The price of each villa could cost up to Sh40 Million. Rent for a 5 bed room double storey building set on a mature garden with a panoramic view and including a large sitting room, fitted kitchen, a family room, a study, servants quarters and ample parking can cost up to Sh250,000 per month.
Area Zoning for Development: Kyuna is an upper middle class neighborhood, in proximity to Nairobi's City Centre, Westlands and Brookside. Its upper class and for real estate developers property built here will attract relatively high rent rates even over Kshs200,000 monthly.

In times of crime, the closest police stations to Kyuna include Spring Valley Police Station, at Lower Kabete, Nairobi, Kabete Police Station on the junction with Waiyaki Way, Muthangari Police Station on James Gichuru Road.

Shopping Centres & Amenities: Kyuna neighbours Spring Valley. It is an easy drive into Westlands, with the sarit Centre and Westgate Mall. Closer is ABC place with its arcade of shops and a pharmacy, and a club (Mercury Lounge). Other local amenities include Dolphin Hotel African Safari Club at Shanzu and the Spring Valley Shopping Center. The Vetlab Golf Club in Loresho is also reasonably close.
